Born in 2001, Kayra wanted to be Hamil-i Qur’an and became a hafiz at a young age. Alhamdulillah.
Kayra, whose deceased great grandfather was also a hafiz, used to go to mosques and mawlids with his grandfather Rıdvan Bey, even though he was still a small child. Kayra, who was taken to Umrah for the first time at the age of 5 by his family, learnt Elif-Ba at the age of 7 – 8 and started to read the Holy Quran in a short time. During his primary school years, his teachers, who were aware of his heart that was moulded with merciful feelings, used to make him read the Qur’an during the Holy Birth Week events celebrating the birthday of our Prophet .
Exactly ten months ago, Kayra went to Umrah with her family and one of the most sincere and heartfelt prayers he made with her heart during her visits and prayers was to ask Almighty Allah to memorise the Qur’an, our holy book, and to become a hafiz. The helper of the one who wants to memorise the Holy Qur’an is of course Allah the Almighty.
From Surah Fatiha to Surah Nas, he memorised the Holy Qur’an from beginning to end in five months without any mistakes or errors, from his teacher Hafiz Selman Okumuş, who was the first in the world to recite the Qur’an by heart twice.
He read the last page and flew to Mecca, the city where the Qur’an was born, and ran to the Kaaba. May his Umrah be complete.
He is now seeking for the first place in the World Qur’an Recitation Competitions in the past years, which the hafiz students trained by his teacher have participated in…
My goal is to become the first in the world. I want to be the pride of my country with this title and I pray for it.
